Thank you for choosing to submit your teaching/learning resource (TLR) into the CAM in UME Digital Resource Repository. In order to contribute and share your work with other educators, you must hold the copyright to the TLR being submitted. This means that you produced the content of the TLR yourself or in collaboration with a colleague. In the later case, please provide your colleague's name and e-mail address to the CAM in UME Project Manager so that she can also obtain consent and copyright assurance from him/her.

Copyright Considerations

We ask that you be careful not to contribute TLRs that may have elements owned by others. Exception 29.4 of the Canadian Copyright Act states that it is NOT a copyright infringement for a university instructor to copy licensed work for the purposes of projection on an overhead or similar device. However, Exception 29.4 does NOT allow instructors to upload licensed material onto a Web site or to print it in a handout.

To avoid potential copyright violations, please be aware that:

  • many images and photos on the Web are licensed. If your TLR contains copyrighted images or photos, you must provide permissions to the CAM in UME Project Manager or remove them from your TLR before uploading it. It would be helpful to others if you insert in your TLR, Image Removed Due to Copyright, in lieu of the image.
  • an increasing number of photos and images can be downloaded from free source sites such as Wikipedia and yotophoto, without worry of copyright infringement. Though not necessary, it would be helpful to others to cite the URL of images downloaded from the public domain.
  • figures and charts must be cited in your TLR.

Author Agreement

Before submitting your TLR, you understand and agree:

  • that you are submitting your TLR for educational purposes on a public Web site (we strongly advise that you read the full Terms of Use for the CAM in UME Digital Resource Repository), and that you will not receive financial or other gain by submitting your TLR;
  • that you retain ownership (i.e., copyright) of your TLR and are free to use its content for other purposes including publication;
  • that other educators who download and use the content of your TLR must cite your work;
  • that we must have permission from all authors of the document to upload it into the Repository (please e-mail the CAM in UME Project Manager if there are other authors to contact).

By clicking on the blue button below, you are indicating that you understand and agree to these conditions and consent to upload your TLR into the CAM in UME Digital Resource Repository.
