Numerous individuals from across Canada (and some from the United States) have participated in varying degrees in the
development of the CAM in UME project. The participant's level of commitment to the project's vision and goals is the
foundation to its success.
As chair of the project, Marja Verhoef (PhD) at the University
of Calgary oversees all aspects of the project's development, including planning, communication, funding, and publications.
Dr. Verhoef is supported by the project manager, Rebecca Brundin-Mather (MASc).
Links with each medical school are maintained through school liaisons. Some of the school liaisons also serve as
links to organizations such as the Association of Facultities of Medicine of Canada (AFMC).
Together, the liaisons form the National Advisory Committee (NAC). The NAC oversees and guides the development of the project.

A number of agencies and foundations have supported the project financially. The
Health Human Resources Strategies Division, and the
Natural Health Products Directorate were the largest funders of our activities, particularly between 2002 and 2005. Other
sources of funding include:
Most funding has been used to support personnel and expenses for workshops,
